Well then it may be better to leave at about 3/3.30pm then, to be safe and arrive late in fes... is there any scenery to see on the way? The final book in the Daughters of War trilogy, this one is set in Marrakech during the 1960s. A young woman travels to Morocco to visit her estranged grandmother and finds herself embroiled in murder! Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for a novel of this type but it didn't intrigue me, captivate or entance me. A beautifully descriptively written book that really brought the place to life. I was fully immersed in the lives of these characters.

Who would have thought that a night train to Marrakech could lead to such an exhilarating story? Long-held family secrets are uncovered, strained family bonds become united, and new and old love stories have a chance to flourish. This is a story of courage and the strength of women who never give up, regardless of their life circumstances. I don't want to give away too many details, so I won't provide any spoilers here.www.smarturl.it/nttm Bookmark The final book in the sweeping historical series from the No.1 Sunday Times bestselling author. Night Train to Marrakech is the third and final book in the author's Daughters of War series. I've only read the first book, Daughters of War, and not the second, The Hidden Palace. Although Night Train to Marrakech can be read as a standalone, a number of characters from previous books (especially the first book) reappear, there are frequent references to events in the earlier books and some storylines reach their conclusion in this one. For all these reasons, I would recommend reading the series from the beginning. Opting to stop in either Casablanca or Rabat is a great way to break up the train trip to Fes if you have the time! Lushly descriptive, exciting and vivid, this is a warm and exciting tale that will pull you in and refuse to let you go’ TRACY REES Although I've never been to Marrakech, the author's beautifully descriptive narrative evoked a powerfully atmospheric sense of the exotic nature of the old city, with its network of labyrinthine streets, swarming crowds and sense of mystery, as well as the beautiful Kasbah du Paradis in the Atlas mountains where Clemence lived. Able to almost feel the intense heat, smell all the different scents of flowers and herbs in her garden, as well as the spices in the souk, to see the beautiful silks, traditional carpets and furnishings in the market, I felt totally transported to this very different world.

Rich in courage, love and sacrifice, but chilling and taut in its portrayal of the horrors of war' KATE FURNIVALL Completely swept me away to another place and time. Dinah is the queen of sumptuous settings, transporting the reader effortlessly from chocolate-box Devonshire to the cabaret clubs of 1920s Paris and war-torn Malta. While the train does not stop, you will pass through Casablanca, Rabat, and Meknes. You’ll get a tiny preview of each city as you pass through, but it’s nothing major. One still can't book online with a foreign bank card, apparently. You will have to wait till you get to Morocco and then go immediately to the station to book.Night Train to Marrakech is the 3rd and final in the Daughters of War trilogy by Dinah Jefferies and I loved it! Fast paced, filled with tension, set in a place of beauty in the 1960s, it brings the lives of the sisters, Florence, Elise and Helene, who I first met in France, 1944, together again. An outstanding read by an author I admire greatly. Highly recommended. Sweeping and sumptuous with a gorgeous described sense of place. A marvellous adventure’ TRACY REES
